Pythia
Pythia was Apollo’s prophetess in his temple at Delphi. Each night Apollo foretold her the future and the next day she shared his prophecies with the many visitors. The oracle was famous for its accuracy and therefor business was flourishing.
But one night Pythia was carried away by the song of a nightingale. She didn’t pay attention to the words of the god, and the next day she gave faulty prophecies. The high priests got many complaints about her. Business was declining. They locked Pythia up in a cave, where she faded away…
