Oreades

Oreades were young and beautiful nymphs, inhabiting grottoes on mountains. One of the most famous nymphs was called Echo. Oreades were born on river banks all over ancient Greece. They did not age – they were nearly immortal because they lived as long as their river flowed. But when their birthplace fell silent they died with it…
