Neaera

Neaera was a water nymph. She was passionately loved by Helios, god of the sun. When she rejected him, he locked her below the surface of the water so that she would have no company other than aquatic animals. The animals offered her little satisfaction so finally she asked Helios to free her. In return she would give herself to him. It was no sooner said than done...
