Nausicaa
Nausicaa was in some parts of Greece the goddess of fishing. In one fishing village she was worshipped so much that the villagers built a temple for her and wanted to make her a statue. The honour was awarded to some Nikos Picasso, the village's only artist.
The goddess found the prayers so heart-warming that she visited the village for a moment to pose for the artist. After five years the statue was finished. The goddess looked down from the sky on her image and found it so incredibly ugly that she returned to the village to destroy the whole temple...
