Myrrha

Myrrha was the daughter of King Cinyras. She had been remiss in worshipping Aphrodite. The goddess punished her by causing her to fall in love with her father. Myrrha tricked him into sexual intercourse. 

After discovering her identity, Cinyras wanted to kill his daughter. She turned to the gods for help. They took pity on her and transformed her into a myrrh tree. The aromatic resin of the myrrh tree is caused by Myrrha's tears...
