Lilaea

Lilaea was a water nymph. She felt so lonely that she drowned herself. Antinous was a winegrower. He was lonesome too. He found Lilaea in a stream nearby his vineyard. He desperately tried to revive her but it was too late. She was cold as ice. He begged the gods to bring her back to life. They replied that they would give her divine breath. Antinous had to wait for her in the field.

After a month of fruitless waiting Antinous went home to hang himself. Right on his way back, the gods sent Lilaea gently to the field. She was alive but needed care. Abandoned she died once more...
