Kyniska

Kyniska was the daughter of the Spartan king Archidamus II. The king wanted her to become an Olympic champion. He asked supreme god Zeus to coach her. "But then she must climb a mountain," said Zeus. "No mountain is high enough for her," replied her father. Zeus agreed. He turned himself into a crow, because flying is easier than climbing.

Halfway up the mountain, Kyniska was exhausted. Like all coaches of young talents, Zeus shouted incessantly at his pupil. Finally, Kyniska made it to the top. She had achieved her father's goal, but because of the many humiliations and injuries, her self-respect was lost forever...
