Gorgo

Gorgo was a Spartan girl. Lycurgus, supreme commander of Sparta, wanted to do away with prudery, sheltered upbringing and effeminacy of any kind. He wanted girls to be toughened physically, just like boys. He made girls run and wrestle and throw the discus and javelin. Everything outdoor and always nude – summer and winter. A genuine Spartan education.
