Dryope

Dryope was a Dryad. They were shy creatures. They lived in the undergrowth of the forest. Dryope was nevertheless caught by Hermes, a son of Zeus.

Hermes was a divine trickster and the god of the transgression of boundaries. Therefore he was the patron of merchants, travellers and thieves. Hermes was also a passionate nymph collector. He stalked them and utilized each opportunity to kidnap a nymph. Dryope was one of his victims. Hermes kept his girls hidden in a cave. What he did with his collection is uncertain...
