Clytaemnestra
Clytaemnestra was married to Agamemnon, king of Mycenae. During Agamemnon’s 10-years war at Troy, she became the mistress of his cousin Aegisthus. The pair plotted to kill the king immediately after his return from Troy.
At homecoming Agamemnon was warm-hearted welcomed by his wife. She waited until he was taking a bath and then entangled him in a cloth net and stabbed him. After the murder Aegisthus replaced Agamemnon as king with Clytemnestra as queen…
